What Ash Would Tell You About Marketing If She Wasn't Afraid to Hurt Your Feelings
Ash brings 20 years of marketing and sales experience across real estate and mortgages. Before co-founding The Real Estate Suite, she ran Streamline Strategies, providing social media services for Realtors and mortgage brokers, and worked as a lender at one of Canada's major banks. She's seen what moves a real estate business forward and what quietly holds it back, and the trouble is rarely effort.
So we asked her to say the things nobody says plainly. Every answer below comes from a place of love and experience, and every one of them is fixable.
Is AI going to ruin my business?
AI isn't going to ruin your business, but resisting every new tool might. It’s great for repeatable tasks like listing drafts, follow-up emails, and weekly planning, freeing up time for relationships, negotiations, and life outside work, but never replacing human connection or privacy safeguards. The agents pulling ahead aren’t more tech-savvy, they are just more curious. At The Real Estate Suite, we still offer fully DIY, no-AI systems and tips for those who value old-school connection.

Do I really need to be on social media?
You don't have to be everywhere, you do have to be findable. When someone gets your name as a referral, they look you up before they ever call. A missing or empty profile plants doubt that you're still in the business, or that you're the expert that can guide them. Here's what I say; at minimum, have one social media profile with a current photo, the people you help, where you do it, and how to reach you. You don't have to be on social media, but you do have to tell people where to find you.

Make it intentional; you can playfully post a photo of yourself with a caption that says "You won't catch me on social, I'm busy out serving you, but I'd love to connect (insert where they should find you; phone, email, alternative platform, etc). Still in the business, still the expert, no ongoing social media posting required.
Why isn’t my marketing working?
You’re not bad at marketing, you're probably missing a system or two, so every Monday starts from scratch. It shows up in the details too. “Client focused, full service, local expert” describes every agent you compete with, so tell people what only you could say, lean into your uniqueness. Trust and authenticity tip; if you only post listings, people learn you only show up to sell. In between, share your community, your client successes, and your best home tips.
Do I need more leads?
If you've got any form of Rolodex, CRM or a cell phone, probably not. Stop missing the opportunities you already have: dig into open house sign-ins, past clients, the friend who asked about rates, a comment from Facebook. A simple follow-up rhythm (we've designed your client touch points every month) beats any new lead source, and the same goes for posting. Consistent beats clever, because people can’t connect with what they never see.

Can’t I figure this out on my own?
You can, but at what cost? Ash has spent years inside realtors’ marketing and knows that guessing costs hours and energy meant for your clients and family. And Eden's tech and real estate brain tie it all into easy-to-use systems for subscribers. So what matters most?
It always comes back to people, and our passion to keep you in front of them. None of this means you’re doing it wrong, and believe me we love human connection first and foremost. Just know that if you've been carrying it alone, that’s why we built The Real Estate Suite.
